Are you an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer looking to take the next step into management? We’re recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-site Facilities Management contract across North London.

Initially combining hands-on engineering with team supervision, this role offers a clear pathway to progress into a full-time Mechanical Supervisor position within approximately six months.

The Role

As The Lead Mechanical Engineer, You Will

  • Carry out PPM and reactive mechanical maintenance across multiple sites.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to a team of engineers.
  • Diagnose faults and resolve mechanical and building services issues.
  • Support contractors, quotations, and day-to-day maintenance delivery.
  • Ensure RAMS, permits, Health & Safety, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and site teams.

About You

To be successful as the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you’ll have:

  • A Mechanical or Plumbing NVQ / City & Guilds qualification.
  • Strong experience within Hard FM, building services, or commercial maintenance.
  • Previous experience as a Lead Engineer, Team Leader, or Working Supervisor.
  • Strong PPM, reactive maintenance, and fault-finding experience.
  • The confidence to lead engineers and deal directly with clients.
  • F-Gas, AC, IOSH, or AP experience would be advantageous.
