Senior Mechanical Engineer

£40,000 - £45,000 P/A
Horsham

Full time | Permanent | 38 hours per week

Do your skills include hydraulic systems, assembly, repair, overhaul, basic testing, and fault finding?

Attega Group is working on behalf of our client as their in-house recruitment provider.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

The main purpose of this Senior Mechanical Engineer role is to work on MRO activities for mechanical assemblies, supporting the precision assembly, repair, overhaul, and testing.

In return, our client is offering a salary of up to £45,000 P/A, depending on experience.

This role is full-time and permanent. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Disassemble to assess condition, wear, and serviceability of mechanical assemblies
  • Complete precision mechanical repairs and reassembly, in line with specifications
  • Perform assembly of integrated mechanical systems, ensuring alignments of components
  • Conduct operational testing, including hydraulic and pneumatic elements
  • Accurately record work, test results, and operational data regularly
  • Apply a delicate problem-solving attitude to identify faults, root causes, and any improvements

The ideal candidate:

  • Must have previous experience in a similar role
  • Will ideally have knowledge of smaller hydraulic systems/precision assembly
  • Working knowledge of gearboxes (motorcycle, cars, boats, planes etc.) is a must
  • A strong understanding of mechanical principles, material properties, and assembly techniques
  • Any experience from a regulated engineering environment would be a huge advantage - aviation, aerospace, automotive, marine, or defence would be ideal!
