Lead.NET Developer
Location: Canary Wharf, London
Working pattern: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week onsite
Contract length: 6 months
Rate: Up to £475 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
About the role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead.NET Developer to join a housing organisation on an initial 6-month contract.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, support, and continuous improvement of a modern application environment, combining hands-on software development with technical leadership across delivery, troubleshooting, and engineering standards.
This is a strongly technical role, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable getting into the detail while also helping provide direction across the wider development team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the development of applications using.NET / C#
- Support the design, build, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions
- Work across AWS environments and associated cloud services
- Develop and support solutions using SQL and MySQL
- Contribute to front-end development using JavaScript
- Build and support containerised solutions
- Work with Docker and Kubernetes across development and deployment environments
- Use Terraform to support infrastructure-as-code and environment provisioning
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines
- Carry out detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Identify and resolve application, infrastructure, and deployment issues
- Work closely with developers, technical teams, and wider stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
- Help drive development standards, engineering best practice, and technical quality
- Support deployment, release, and ongoing application stability
- Provide technical guidance and leadership where required

Ideal background
The strongest candidates are likely to have previously worked as a:

You should be comfortable remaining hands-on technically rather than operating purely in a management or architecture capacity.
Experience working within a cloud-native or containerised environment would be particularly valuable.
Contract details
- 6-month initial contract
- Up to £475 per day
- Outside IR35
- Canary Wharf, London
- The role requires 2–3 days per week onsite, with the remainder worked remotely.
