Lead.NET Engineer – Software for Physical Devices

Location: Remote (occasional travel into office) - must be UK based

Salary: £80,000 + Bonus

Technologies: C# |.Net | SQL | Linux | Typescript

This role focuses on building software that interfaces with and ingests data from physical devices and external systems.

This is not a typical web/API-only.NET role.

The Opportunity

We’re working with a UK based tech company developing advanced platforms that operate in real-world environments, integrating data from multiple hardware devices and external sources into a unified system.

They’re looking for a Lead.NET Engineer to drive development of the back end systems that connect to, process, and manage data from these physical systems.

The Role

You’ll lead the design and build of software that sits at the boundary between hardware and software, handling data ingestion, system integration, and real-time processing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Design systems that handle real-time or near real-time data streams
  • Develop and maintain interfaces between software and physical components (e.g. sensors, devices, third-party systems)
  • Work on data normalisation, fusion, and processing pipelines
  • Ensure reliability and performance in non-ideal, real-world conditions
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, systems, and product teams
  • Provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on with development
