Staff Cloud Network Engineer – Green Tech
12-Month FTC | Up to £100,000 | Heavy Remote
We’re partnering with a leading Green Tech organisation that is looking for a Staff Cloud Network Engineer to join its infrastructure team on an initial 12-month FTC.
This is a senior, hands-on position where you’ll become a key cloud networking SME, helping redesign and rebuild core networking across AWS and GCP while supporting a significant period of technology change.
You’ll have genuine ownership and influence over the future networking architecture, while mentoring engineers and raising cloud networking capability across the wider team.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and rebuilding scalable, resilient networking across AWS and GCP
- Working across cloud, on-premises, and office connectivity
- Designing and managing complex routing and BGP
- Improving and rebuilding networking Infrastructure-as-Code, creating reusable modules for platform teams
- Supporting hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity
- Contributing to Kubernetes networking across cloud environments
- Providing technical leadership, architectural guidance and mentorship
- Helping establish networking standards and best practices across the engineering organisation

- Routing
- Terraform/IaC
- VPCs
- Hybrid Networking
- Network Automation

Experience with Kubernetes networking, GKE/EKS, DNS, VPNs, Direct Connect/Interconnect and network security would also be beneficial.
This is a Staff-level role, so we're looking for someone comfortable taking ownership of architecture, influencing technical decisions and mentoring other engineers – not simply implementing existing designs. The underlying brief also places significant emphasis on cloud networking, IaC, technical leadership and resilient architecture.
