The Role

At IC24, we're looking for a Lead Nurse / Advanced Practitioner to provide clinical leadership across our Brighton practices, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care while developing and empowering our nursing and healthcare assistant teams.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll combine hands-on clinical practice with team leadership, clinical governance and service improvement. You'll work closely with Practice Managers, Clinical Leads and wider multidisciplinary teams to drive best practice, improve patient outcomes and support the continued development of our Primary Care services.
Most importantly, you'll understand that investing in people, maintaining clinical excellence and fostering a positive team culture helps deliver the very best care for our patients.
What you'll focus on

Leading and developing clinical teams
You'll provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, helping colleagues build confidence, capability and clinical excellence.

Delivering outstanding patient care
You'll provide advanced clinical care and assessment, ensuring patients receive safe, effective and evidence-based treatment in line with national and local guidelines.

Supporting clinical governance and quality
You'll help maintain high standards of clinical governance, supporting audits, quality improvement initiatives and compliance with CQC and organisational requirements.

Driving practice improvement
You'll work collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders to identify opportunities to improve pathways, patient outcomes, preventative care and service delivery.

Developing workforce capability
You'll support training, education and career development across the nursing team, helping to create a positive learning environment and promote professional growth.

Managing clinical performance
You'll support colleagues through regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and development plans, helping to maintain high standards across the team.

Supporting population health and long-term condition management
You'll contribute to chronic disease management, health promotion initiatives and preventative healthcare services that improve outcomes for patients.

Building collaborative relationships
You'll work closely with GPs, Practice Managers, Clinical Leads and wider healthcare teams to ensure joined-up, patient-centred care.

What matters in this role
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Is a First Level Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Holds a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification
- Has experience working within General Practice, Primary Care or Urgent Care settings
- Demonstrates strong clinical leadership and decision-making skills
- Has experience supporting, mentoring or managing clinical teams
- Understands clinical governance, quality improvement and audit processes
- Is passionate about developing colleagues and supporting clinical excellence
- Builds strong professional relationships across multidisciplinary teams
- Is proactive, organised and committed to continuous improvement

Location: Allied Medical Practice, Brighton
Travel to other IC24 sites may occasionally be required to support service needs.
