We are looking for an experienced nurse colposcopist who is passionate about service delivery and patient experience.
Role Overview
The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner in colposcopy and will have in-depth knowledge of national and local colposcopy/screening policies and guidelines. They will give appropriate specialist advice, assess and diagnose pre-cancerous/cancerous changes on the cervix, and provide appropriate treatment and follow-up care.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise qualified and unqualified staff
- Maintain and improve the quality of care for patients referred to colposcopy in line with NHSCSP guidelines
- Manage the delivery of a colposcopy unit in conjunction with the lead consultant
- Support, manage, develop, and represent the views of the specialist nurse colposcopists, colposcopy nurses, and other support staff within the colposcopy unit
- Lead and contribute to the overall standards and quality of service provision in the organisation
- Support the failsafe process in conjunction with the Lead Colposcopist
- Support the Lead Consultant Colposcopist and Cervical Screening Programme Lead in the delivery of a high-quality, efficient colposcopy service
- Manage a defined caseload, providing compassionate, patient-centred care
- Deliver expert clinical care alongside emotional, psychological, and educational support
- Provide advanced clinical practice within complex care pathways
- Provide strong clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based care and supporting service development and multidisciplinary working
