Good housing impacts on so many aspects of our daily lives. As well as being a basic human right, it also encourages a sense of community, helps economies to thrive and creates an environment people want to protect.
We need you to help us meet our aim to provide everyone with access to good quality, affordable decent housing by:
- Fulfilling a general supervisory role across the Council’s Housing Service.
- Monitoring the delivery and sustainability of specific areas of service as required.
- Contributing to the preparation, implementation and review of housing policy as a key part of Housing Services.
We want to improve the quality of life of people across Fife and we work with many different organisations, including tenants’ groups, to try to make that happen. As a Lead Officer, you will supervise work that delivers on improved services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
