Lead Oracle Analytics & Python Reporting Modernisation Specialist

Location: London
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £500-£600 per day
Working pattern: Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen to join a leading global financial services organisation supporting institutional investors and operating at the heart of the global financial markets.

You will lead the end-to-end modernisation of a legacy reporting environment built around Microsoft Access and Oracle databases, replacing desktop-dependent processes with scalable, secure and production-ready reporting solutions using Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), BI Publisher and Python.

This is a hands-on role combining solution design, database engineering, reporting development and automation, with ownership from initial assessment through to implementation and production handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and reverse-engineer existing Microsoft Access databases, VBA, macros, queries and reporting workflows.
  • Design and deliver a modern reporting architecture using Oracle Analytics Server, BI Publisher, Python or a combination of these technologies.
  • Develop and optimise Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, views and stored procedures to support complex reporting requirements.
  • Build automated reporting solutions using Python, including data extraction, transformation, validation and Excel/PDF/CSV output generation.
  • Develop dashboards, report templates, scheduling and distribution workflows, ensuring appropriate security and access controls.
  • Implement robust testing, data reconciliation, performance tuning and production deployment processes.
  • Produce technical documentation, operational runbooks and knowledge transfer materials for ongoing support.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
