About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Oracle Application Developer to join a dynamic manufacturing company based in Cardiff. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the development, support, and enhancement of Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.2) and Oracle APEX applications. You will work closely with business users to understand their requirements, design innovative solutions, and implement them effectively. This position offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of projects from inception to deployment, ensuring that technological solutions align with business objectives. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively within a small, dedicated IT team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.2) development, support, and optimization.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle APEX, with experience leading upgrades and implementing modern applications.
- Solid understanding of Oracle modules such as Inventory, Purchasing, WIP, WMS, Order Management, BOM, Engineering, ASCP, MRP, GL, FA, AP, AR, Costing, and EDI Gateway.
- Experience troubleshooting complex technical and functional issues across EBS modules and interfaces.
- Proficiency in VB.NET and Python for maintaining and enhancing supporting applications.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively gather requirements and present solutions to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields are preferred.

Responsibilities
- Enhance, support, and optimize the existing Oracle EBS environment to improve business processes and operational efficiency.
- Design, develop, and implement modern Oracle APEX applications, ensuring seamless integration with EBS modules.
- Lead requirements gathering sessions with business users to identify needs and translate them into technical specifications.
- Manage end-to-end project delivery, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and functional issues within EBS and related interfaces.
- Maintain and enhance supporting applications built with VB.NET and Python, ensuring stability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade systems, such as leading the move to APEX 26.1, leveraging new functionalities to modernize processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, adopting best practices and new technologies to enhance development lifecycle.

- Joining this organization offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your professional and personal well-being. The role offers a salary of up to £55,000, complemented by company pension contributions of up to 10%.

- The company also provides flexible working hours, free on-site parking, and an on-site canteen for convenience.
- You will start with 24 days of holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days with service.
- Additional benefits include enhanced family and sickness pay, access to an Employee Assistance Programme, and life insurance coverage at four times your salary.
- Working hours are from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and 7:45 am to 1:30 pm on Friday, based on-site at a busy manufacturing facility in Cardiff.
