About Us

Sunday is building the fastest, simplest way to pay in restaurants. With a quick scan of a QR code, diners can pay, tip, and leave in about 10 seconds. We believe great products should feel obvious, not complicated, and we focus relentlessly on keeping things simple while earning trust from restaurants and guests at every interaction. Today, Sunday powers payments in thousands of restaurants across the US, UK, and France, helping operators turn tables faster, increase tips, and unlock valuable insights. We push ourselves to go beyond what’s expected, building with ownership, moving fast, and scaling with ambition as we tackle our biggest growth opportunity in the US.

About the Role

As Lead Payments Programme Manager, you will be the effective number two to the Payments leadership team. You will define priorities, connect local programmes to Sunday's global payments architecture, and lead complex initiatives from discovery and business case through launch, adoption, and measurement.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Operations, Sales, Commercial, and external financial partners. Over time, you may also help build and lead a team of programme managers.

Right to work in France required.

Join early, grow fast, and shape the journey!

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the payments portfolio and territorial priorities, identifying the highest-impact opportunities across architecture, optimisation, monetisation, and new products.
  • Lead the launch of new payment products and solutions, from opportunity framing and business case through design, partner selection, implementation, launch, and adoption.
  • Assess local and territorial payments programmes against Sunday's global architecture and priorities, making clear recommendations and trade-offs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery across Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Operations, Sales, and Commercial teams, creating clarity on decisions, ownership, risks, and next steps.
  • Manage relationships with PSPs, acquirers, banks, fintech partners, and other suppliers where relevant to delivery.
  • Build the governance, operating rhythm, and decision-making mechanisms needed to keep complex programmes moving at speed.
  • Connect delivery to business impact, including adoption, revenue, payment performance, operational efficiency, risk, and customer outcomes.
  • Use data, experimentation, and structured analysis to validate priorities, learn quickly, and improve the payments proposition.
  • Help shape the Payments programme-management operating model and, as the organisation grows, support or lead other programme managers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What Success Looks Like

In Your First 30 Days

  • Build a clear view of Sunday's payments architecture, active programmes, key partners, and territorial priorities.
  • Present a quantified and qualified view of the three most important initiatives for the next 12 months, including the rationale, expected impact, dependencies, and key risks.
  • Establish effective working relationships with the main stakeholders across Payments, Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Operations.

Within Your First Four Months

  • Take one of the priority initiatives from ideation through delivery as a measurable pilot or A/B test.
  • Put in place the governance, decision-making, and measurement needed to evaluate the initiative and decide what to scale.
  • Demonstrate a clear link between the programme's delivery, adoption, and business impact.

About You

  • Significant experience owning complex programmes in payments, fintech, financial services, marketplaces, or another regulated and operationally complex environment.
  • A track record of taking initiatives end-to-end, from problem framing and business case through launch, adoption, and measurable impact.
  • Strong understanding of payment flows, partners, and operating models. Relevant experience may include PSP or acquirer migrations, payment routing, local payment methods, payouts, settlement, reconciliation, treasury, monetisation, or market expansion.
  • The judgement to prioritise a focused portfolio, make trade-offs, and stop or reshape work when the expected impact no longer justifies the investment.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, external financial partners, and teams with competing constraints.
  • Comfort navigating regulatory, risk, operational, and technical complexity, with the ability to make progress without having perfect information.
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills. You can turn complex information into a clear recommendation and defend it with data.
  • An ownership mindset, bias to action, and the ability to create momentum across teams without relying on formal authority.
  • A collaborative and pragmatic approach, with the humility to learn quickly and the resilience to keep going when plans change.
