The Lead People Advocate

The Lead People Advocate is a trusted partner to business leaders, providing guidance, coaching, and support across all areas of People and talent. They work closely with managers to help navigate employee-related challenges, strengthen team effectiveness, and drive positive outcomes.

This role plays a key part in shaping and implementing people initiatives that improve organizational performance. The Lead People Advocate collaborates with leaders to develop practical strategies and solutions across areas like organizational design, change management, talent development, learning and growth, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee relations.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the business to lead organisation and leadership reviews, focusing on succession planning, talent development, and organizational health priorities.
  • Acts as a change agent to the business by helping guide change and transformation – striving to lead toward best practice status.
  • Serve as liaison between managers and employees; provide guidance to and coach managers and employees on People policies and processes, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
  • Analyse data and use insights of key metrics and trends to create actionable data for coaching and development. Develop plans and advise client leaders on implementation.
  • Collaborate/liaise with COEs (compensation, benefits, talent, People operations, and learning and development) and business leaders to develop, implement, and communicate programs aligned to People functional goals.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the broader context of the People organization and the overall business in order to build effective and productive working relationships. Pursue elevating the impact of the function through continuous learning and effective partnerships with stakeholders that result in optimal quality of service, programs, and results delivered.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of People plans and solutions across multiple locations in order to achieve People initiatives.
  • In partnership with legal, ensure compliance with company legal and People practices within area of responsibility and with legislative and regulatory requirements, standards and other relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in cross-functional work groups to gain and offer HR insight on business and operational challenges.
  • In partnership with legal, lead and manage all employee-related matters including complex investigations.
  • Lead, facilitate and/or participate in projects and training. Generate reports by developing queries for analysis and operational effectiveness.
  • Process employee terminations and conduct exit interviews; ensure all relevant transactions are recorded in the HRIS system. Review exit data, analyze trends, and provide recommendations and feedback to People team and leadership.
  • Facilitate and provide support on inbound immigration/ mobility scenarios and see through to completion.

What You'll Bring

  • Significant HR/People experience, including substantial experience providing senior-level HR generalist, business partner, or employee relations support.
  • Strong business acumen and broad HR experience with a proven track record and ability to partner and collaborate with HR colleagues, functional specialists and internal clients
  • Significant experience operating as a senior People/HR partner in a complex, fast-paced, matrixed, and multi-site environment, supporting leaders through organisational growth, transformation, and change.
  • Proven ability to translate business priorities into practical People plans, using workforce insights, organisational design principles, and talent strategies to improve business outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of multi-location legal and regulatory aspects within employment and labor laws
  • Extensive international HR experience across multiple jurisdictions, with strong understanding of local employment practices, cultural considerations, and the ability to adapt People strategies to country-specific legal and operational requirements.
  • Experience leading People workstreams for new country branch-outs or market entry, including partnering with legal, finance, payroll, benefits, immigration, and business leaders to establish compliant and scalable employment frameworks.
  • Proven experience collaborating with works councils, employee representative bodies, and/or unions, including consultation, information-sharing, negotiation support, and implementation of People changes in line with applicable local requirements.
  • Strong employee relations expertise, including experience advising on complex investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters, performance concerns, absence management, and risk-based decision making.
  • Demonstrated success in de-escalating complex employee relations matters
  • Experience coaching and influencing senior leaders, building trusted relationships, and constructively challenging decision making where required
  • Possess resilience and ability to handle high volume and pivot within a dynamic environment
  • Ability to analyze facts, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
  • Demonstrated Immigration and mobility experience
  • Strong consultancy skills to include negotiation and influencing, and the ability to drive positive change needed for consensus building
  • Keen ability to situationally address a variety of personalities and environments without compromising People policies, standards, and practices
  • Experience interpreting People metrics and trends, preparing insight-led recommendations, and presenting findings clearly to leaders to support workforce planning, engagement, retention, and organisational effectiveness.
  • Experience leading or contributing to cross-functional People projects, process improvements, policy implementation, and change initiatives from planning through delivery.
