Job Title: Lead Pharmacist Dispensaries

Contract Type: Fixed Term

Fixed Term Contract End Date: April 2027

Purpose for Fixed Term: Covering a secondment backfill.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a band 7 registered Pharmacist, for a fixed term contract to cover a secondment for 6 months.

You will need to demonstrate good problem solving, time management and organisational skills, with excellent communication and attention to detail.

Main base will be at the RSH Hospital, however you may also be required to work at SGH site.

Post graduate Diploma in pharmacy practice is desirable.

In a challenging but rewarding post, you will support and develop staff and services to meet the needs of different service users and further develop established dispensary clinical services.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

In this role, your key responsibilities will include supervising, teaching and providing clinical leadership, negotiating and influencing skills, using initiative and teamwork will be required, but training and support will be provided within this supportive team.

  • Awareness of current registered premises and CD legislation and legalities
  • Experience of delivering teaching or training to staff
  • Meet RPS foundation pharmacist framework/GLF competencies

Person specification

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience

Essential criteria

  • Master’s degree in pharmacy
  • GPhC registration
  • Sound knowledge of a surgical or medical speciality (for example TB or mental health) acquired working within a suitable specialty
  • Meets RPS Foundation pharmacist framework/ GLF competencies
  • Audit and evaluative work
  • Aware of current registered premises and CD legislation, and legalities
  • Experience of delivering teaching or training to staff

Desirable criteria

  • Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience
  • MRPharmS (member of the royal pharmaceutical society) or equivalent
  • Working towards RPS Advanced Core portfolio submission
  • Training in medicines information
  • Preparation of guidelines/policies/procedures
  • Tutor or mentoring skills
  • Leadership or management/supervisory experience/or qualification in foundation management
