Education, Research & Innovation Lead Pharmacist
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our progressive, forward-thinking and multi-award-winning Pharmacy Department as the Education, Research & Innovation Lead Pharmacist. We are a team with a strong commitment to helping individuals realise their full potential, and we are now looking for an experienced, ambitious and dynamic leader to help shape the future of our service.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the Education and Training team within Pharmacy at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, driving a culture of continuous learning, professional development and workforce excellence. You will also work closely with the Department Head of Pharmacy Digital Improvement & Innovation to champion new ways of working, harnessing digital and informatics technologies to transform patient care and improve outcomes.

A key focus of the role will be supporting the department to fully embrace a research-driven culture, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to innovate, influence practice and deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job
- Support and develop the Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation workforce ensuring they have the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care across a range of health and social care settings.
- Provide Medicines Optimisation advice and support to the Children and Families Care Group focusing on medicine value programs that utilise medicine, finance and patient level data to identify areas of inappropriate medicine use and variations in prescribing patterns to drive up quality and reduce waste.
- Support and develop the Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation governance infrastructure to provide assurance to the Director on service matters related to medicines safety.
- Support the Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation department in transitioning to a research and innovation active department with stronger links to local HEIs.
- Play an active role in the Trust’s Research and Innovation Department identifying opportunities for collaboration and commercial and strategic partnerships which support our ambitions to be innovation and research-led.
