Help shape the future of digital medicines at HDFT

Are you a registered Pharmacy Technician with a passion for medicines safety, digital innovation and supporting colleagues through change?

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Digital Medicines Team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 6 Lead Pharmacy Technician – ePMA and Digital Medicines Support. You will play a key role in supporting the implementation of Nervecentre ePMA as part of the Trust’s strategic implementation of the wider Nervecentre Electronic Patient Record (EPR).

This role offers the chance to be at the forefront of a major digital transformation programme, helping to improve prescribing, medicines administration, clinical workflows, data quality, staff experience and, most importantly, patient safety.

These posts are offered as a 23-month fixed term opportunity and will be based within the Pharmacy Department at HDFT.

You Will

  • Act as a key point of contact for ePMA and digital medicines queries from pharmacy, medical, nursing and other clinical staff.
  • Support the implementation, optimisation and safe use of Nervecentre ePMA and related digital medicines processes.
  • Contribute to system build, configuration, testing, validation, user acceptance testing and change control.
  • Support go-live activity, upgrades and optimisation, including floor-walking, issue logging and user support.
  • Help design, deliver and evaluate ePMA training for pharmacy, nursing, medical and other clinical staff.
  • Develop and maintain user guidance, quick reference guides, SOPs, FAQs and other support materials.
  • Support medicines safety, governance and incident review relating to ePMA and digital medicines systems.
  • Contribute to audit, reporting, service evaluation and quality improvement linked to digital medicines workflows.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, support and supervision to Digital Medicines Support Officers, pharmacy technicians, trainees, assistants or other staff as delegated.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
