An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Band 6 Pharmacy Technician to join our Moorfields Private team at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Previous ophthalmic pharmacy experience is not required; however, a solid background in providing a pharmacy service within clinical services as well as operational running of pharmacy dispensary services would be essential.

The post holder will carry out the role of Lead Pharmacy Technician in Moorfields Private and assist in the provision of high quality, patient focused, safe, effective and efficient Clinical Pharmacy Services for Moorfields Private outpatients, laser, day-case and paediatric patients.
- They will act as line manager to Pharmacy Technicians and/or Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officers (ATOs) and will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of day-to-day operational activities and medicines management initiatives.
- They will provide specialist Pharmacy technical input into medicines optimisation contributing towards both operational and strategic developments.
- The post holder will oversee and support the training of rotational Pharmacists on aspects relating to the technical and operational tasks within Moorfields Private (MP) Pharmacy and contribute to the education, training and development of the Pharmacy technical workforce.
- The post holder will support and work with the Moorfields Private Pharmacy Operations and Development Manager and the Moorfields Private Specialist Pharmacist on service developments and improvements including services provided to the private patients in the Richard Desmond Children’s Eye Centre (RDCEC) to ensure that Pharmacy services meet the needs of the users.
- The post holder will be required to act as an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) as stated in departmental procedures.
