Lead Physician - Corporate Onsite

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to provide Clinical leadership across a number of new and established prestigious Health Centre’s (onsite clients) of Bupa’s. You will be responsible for providing leadership and support for Doctors and Nurses in your allocated Bupa Health Centre’s. Working collaboratively with other members of the management team you will ensure provision of high standards of clinical practice, customer service and client relations.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

As the Lead physician, your duties will involve but not limited to:

  • Delivery of Adult Health Assessments and private GP work (for customers over 18) at onsite Bupa Health Centres
  • Provide clinical input into the review of customer feedback comments, complaints, incidents and risks.
  • Oversee the provision of Health Assessments and private GP work by the Doctors within the centres
  • To partner with the Bupa Resource team or local administrative team, and Centre Managers for diary management and clinical scheduling clinical requirements.
  • If issues arise (identified either by you or a member of your centre teams) then to investigate, ensuring clinical safety is always upheld.
  • Conduct clinical audits as per the Quality Team audit schedule, and in liaison with the Clinical Health Assessment Leadership Team (CHALT).
  • Lead on the implementation of clinical policies and procedures with guidance from the Clinical Leadership Team.
  • Ensure the Medicines Management policy is implemented in your centres in relation to service line/resus policy drugs.
  • Act as a key advisory and support point to staff within the centre, and other LPs – ensure clinical guidance is provided to all colleagues as and when required.
  • Lead on the delivery of mock scenarios and emergency clinical procedures within the centre.
  • Support the Centre Managers and centre teams to drive better centre services performance.
  • Where required, support the Centre Manager, Health Service Manager or Account Manager with client and Bupa business reviews, be it data review, clinical insight and findings and where needed, presenting these back to stakeholders.

Qualifications & Training

  • GMC registered with a licence to practice and on the GP register.
  • Substantial experience in General practice (at least 5 years on GP register)
  • Previous experience as an appraiser, mentor and leadership role (desirable)
  • Experience in managing incidents and significant events.
  • Experience in using quality improvement activities to improve patient outcomes
  • Experience in managing underperformance/disagreements.
  • Undertakes regular CPD activities in line with requirements of appraisal and revalidation.
