Job Description

Driven by significant growth, United Infrastructure are seeking a Lead Planner for their Power Transmission & Distribution business. This pivotal role involves leading the day-to-day operations of the planning team on a major project for a high profile client to ensure seamless project execution. This role will be based at our site office near Inverness.

United Infrastructure is a UK-based infrastructure services company delivering critical energy, power, water, telecoms and social infrastructure projects. Following the acquisition of Wood’s UK Transmission & Distribution business, United Infrastructure has strengthened its capabilities in power engineering, construction and asset optimisation, supporting grid resilience and the transition to a low-carbon energy system. The company partners with public and private clients to deliver safe, sustainable and future-ready infrastructure across the UK.

The Role

This role will suit an experienced planner with a proven track record in planning and scheduling management of large EPC projects. Preferably you will have experience of transmission projects, but we’d also be open to hearing from individuals with relevant construction experience from other sectors including heavy civils, highways, rail, utilities, oil & gas or petrochemicals. Experience of NEC form of contract is preferred but not essential.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
