The Opportunity
Searchability is recruiting for an ambitious, fast-growing AI technology business looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to join its engineering team.
This is a highly hands-on position working closely with the Head of Engineering, taking significant ownership across the technology stack and helping set the technical standard for the wider engineering team.
Agentic AI is at the heart of the product and engineering environment. Engineers work extensively with Claude Code and AI agents, while the underlying platform is built around agentic pipelines.
What You'll Do
- Architect, design and build scalable backend systems and APIs from initial architecture through to production.
- Design and maintain microservice and event-driven architectures supporting real-time operational workflows.
- Lead a small engineering team, driving delivery, reviewing work and taking accountability for what ships.
- Set engineering standards around agentic AI, including Claude Code workflows and wider AI development practices.
- Contribute to technical strategy and major architecture decisions alongside the Head of Engineering.
- Build secure, performant and maintainable systems and reliable data pipelines.
- Work closely with the product to ensure technical solutions solve genuine customer problems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
