What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Lead Price Data Analyst to lead our London-based Price Data Operations team and support global price data operations. This role is ideal for an experienced people leader who is passionate about data, operational excellence and technology-driven innovation, and who is eager to lead a high-performing team delivering critical market intelligence to the global energy and commodity markets.

You will lead a team of analysts while working closely with stakeholders across Editorial, Product and Technology teams. The role requires strong stakeholder management, prioritisation and communication skills, balancing day-to-day operational activities with strategic initiatives to ensure the successful delivery of key business objectives. You will also help drive continuous improvement through automation, AI and digital transformation initiatives, including the adoption of AI agents, Microsoft Copilot Studio solutions, Power Automate workflows and Power Query-based data processes.

The team supports Argus' key business processes every day and provides critical coverage for global data operations. As such, you will participate in a shift-based support rota alongside other team members. Typical support hours run from 10:00am to 7:00pm, with each team member participating in the later shift 2–3 times per week to ensure coverage for global operations. The successful candidate will combine strong technical capability with excellent leadership, stakeholder management and organisational skills, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and operational excellence.

What Will You Be Doing

  • Setting up and managing metadata as well as data pipelines to ensure accuracy, and compliance
  • Supporting clients with queries relating to:
    • integration of Argus data and metadata into client systems
    • data validation
    • provision of data
  • Executing queries to retrieve and manipulate structured datasets for analysis and efficient data workflows.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Communicating technical concepts and data requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs, manage expectations and drive successful outcomes.
  • Prioritising team workload, competing business requests and operational activities to ensure timely delivery of key objectives.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation, AI and digital solutions.
  • Contributing to the design, development and continuous improvement of AI agents, Copilot solutions and automated workflows.
  • Supporting the implementation of process automation initiatives using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Query and other Microsoft technologies.
  • Working with business stakeholders to translate manual processes into scalable, automated and AI-driven solutions.
  • Enabling an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations within the team and ensuring delivery against agreed service levels and objectives.
  • Monitoring team performance and reporting on key metrics, identifying training and development needs, and resolving issues or conflicts within the team.
  • Coaching and developing team members, promoting knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and best practices across the function.

Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in data-related roles.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, balance operational demands and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and reporting.
  • Experience with Power Query for data extraction, transformation, cleansing and automation of data processes.
  • Experience working with Power BI for reporting, dashboards and data visualisation.
  • Demonstrable experience in SQL for querying relational databases, preferably Oracle.
  • Strong knowledge of data workflows, metadata management and database architectures.
  • Experience using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and Power Automate to drive efficiency and process automation.
  • Experience designing, building and maintaining AI agents, copilots and automated workflows.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements through automation, AI and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience integrating Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel, databases and enterprise systems into automated workflows and solutions.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, AI-assisted analysis and the practical application of generative AI in a business environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of project management principles, including planning, prioritisation, risk management and delivery within structured timelines.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and influencing decisions across business, operational and technical teams.
