Lead Product Data Scientist - Brighton
Location: Brighton | Hybrid – 3 days a week in the office, reducing to 2 from January 2027
Salary: £75,000–£90,000 DOE

A growing product-led business is looking for a commercially minded Lead Product Data Scientist to identify where data can create the greatest value across its products, customers and operations.
Working closely with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams, you’ll challenge assumptions, size opportunities and influence strategic decisions. You’ll help the business understand what is possible through data and determine which ideas are worth pursuing.
This is a highly visible and consultative role, but you’ll remain hands-on, using SQL, Python, experimentation and statistical analysis to test ideas, quantify potential value and measure outcomes. It’s an opportunity to use data to shape what gets built, rather than simply measure what happened afterwards.

What you’ll be doing
- Partner with executive stakeholders to identify and shape valuable data opportunities.
- Turn complex business challenges into clear, actionable analytical solutions.
- Quantify potential value before products or features are developed.
- Work alongside Product, Engineering and Design teams to influence product direction.
- Use experimentation and hypothesis testing to validate ideas and measure success.
- Present clear recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Help broaden the use and understanding of data across the organisation.
What you’ll bring
- Strong experience in product analytics, decision science or commercial data science.
- A proven ability to influence executive and senior stakeholders.
- Experience applying data across varied commercial, customer or operational use cases.
- Advanced SQL and hands-on Python experience within a commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of experimentation, A/B testing and statistical analysis.
- Experience within a product-led, marketplace, ecommerce or consumer business.
- The confidence to challenge thinking while remaining collaborative and commercially focused.
