About the Role
Help decide what gets built, lead the engineering and help the world build better.
Hubexo’s software helps construction businesses find projects, share product information, write specifications and manage tenders. Your contribution will be to understand the problems customers face and turn that insight into dependable, useful software.
You’ll be part of our global product and engineering team, drawing on colleagues across Architecture, Platform Engineering, QA, AI & Data, and Security. Together, you’ll take work from customer discovery through delivery, operation and improvement.
As Lead Product Engineer, you’ll work alongside a Product Manager and Product Designer to decide which customer problems to tackle and how to solve them. We build our products in-house so you’ll have genuine ownership of the technical direction of your product area and stay hands-on across front end, back end and cloud, writing and reviewing production code each week.
What You’ll Do
- Shape product decisions with Product and Design. Speak with customers, bring engineers into discovery and challenge assumptions with simpler solutions or experiments.
- Lead technical design and architecture while writing and reviewing production code. Build secure, scalable and accessible solutions, balancing customer value, delivery speed, quality and technical debt.
- Define success measures before building. Use product analytics, feature flags and staged rollouts to review results and decide what to improve next.
- Strengthen testing, release automation, observability and recovery. Take part in incident response and meet relevant security and compliance obligations.
- Coach engineers to make sound product and technical decisions. Use AI coding and agentic tools throughout delivery, setting clear standards for validating their output and sharing learning across teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You’ll Bring
You’ll have substantial hands-on experience designing, building and scaling complex SaaS systems, including leading technical direction for a product area.
We’re looking for:
- Strong full-stack TypeScript/JavaScript skills, with frameworks such as NestJS, React or Next.js, alongside REST or GraphQL APIs and SQL or other data stores.
- Experience building and operating applications on AWS or a similar cloud platform in an agile, DevOps environment.
- Examples of shaping what was built and measuring whether it worked, with direct customer or user involvement through discovery, research or support.
- Working knowledge of product analytics and experimentation, such as PostHog, feature flags and staged rollouts.
- Daily, considered use of AI coding and agentic tools, with a clear approach to validating their output.
- Experience developing other engineers and influencing without line-management authority, with clear written and verbal communication about technical trade-offs.

Enterprise or regulated B2B SaaS experience, familiarity with frameworks such as SOC 2, FedRAMP or GDPR, and experience with global products or building AI features would be useful. Construction, specification or procurement knowledge would also be advantageous for you but that's desirable rather than essential.
