⚡ Lead Product Manager (EV Charging) – Job Summary

We are seeking an ambitious, commercially driven Lead Product Manager to own and grow our EV Charging portfolio. This role is responsible for defining product strategy, customer propositions, and roadmap priorities to maximise market share, customer value, and portfolio profitability across the connected AC home EV charging market.

You will act as the product lead for the EV charging category, spanning:

  • Hardware
  • Firmware
  • Installer experiences
  • Customer-facing applications
  • Cloud integrations
  • Connected energy services

While Home Energy Management (HEMS) is owned by a separate Product Manager, you will collaborate closely with Digital and HEMS product leaders to ensure seamless customer journeys and aligned roadmap priorities.

This role provides a clear pathway to leading and developing a small team of Product Managers as the product organisation grows.


⚡ Key Responsibilities

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Residential EV Charging portfolio.
  • Define customer propositions, value propositions, and end-to-end customer experiences.
  • Translate customer, installer, commercial, support, and partner needs into clear product requirements.
  • Prioritise roadmaps for EV charging products—across hardware, firmware, and digital experiences.
  • Partner with the Digital Product Manager and Product Owners to align priorities for:
    • Mobile applications
    • Backend services
    • Cloud API capabilities
  • Ensure coherence across charger hardware, firmware, installer journeys, customer journeys, and connected services.
  • Make informed trade-offs across:
    • Customer experience
    • Technical capability
    • Commercial value
    • Support impact
    • Technical debt
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to define:
    • Feasibility
    • Sequencing
    • Dependencies
    • Delivery readiness
  • Lead end-to-end market delivery, from concept through launch and lifecycle management.
  • Track:
    • Portfolio performance
    • Customer adoption
    • Market competitiveness
    • Gross Profit contribution
  • Own portfolio commercial performance, including:
    • Revenue growth strategies
    • Gross profit optimisation
    • Pricing strategy
    • Investment prioritisation
  • Develop business cases to support pricing, profitability, and investment decisions.
  • Support regulatory and compliance requirements for EV charging products.
  • Champion product management best practices and develop product capability across the business.

  • Extensive Product Management experience, ideally in:
    • EV charging
    • Connected products
    • Energy technology
    • IoT
    • Hardware-enabled solutions
  • Experience taking products from:
    • Concept → Launch → Market adoption → Lifecycle optimisation
  • Commercial acumen with:
    • Managing product profitability
    • Gross profit performance
    • Business cases
    • Investment decisions
  • Proven ability to own product strategy & roadmap, prioritise, and lead end-to-end market delivery.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Experience with:
    • Hardware
    • Firmware
    • Software development
    • Cloud platforms
    • Customer-facing digital experiences
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, balancing:
    • Customer needs
    • Commercial outcomes
    • Technical constraints
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate requirements into successful market propositions.
  • Experience working in Agile product development (Scrum, Kanban methodologies).
  • Proficiency with:
    • Jira
    • Product planning tools (roadmaps, backlog management, prioritisation, delivery tracking).
  • Experience collaborating with:
    • Engineering
    • UX / Design
    • Commercial teams on complex product delivery.
