JOB TITLE: LEAD PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

The post is based on the Cygnus Alpha, 2x3 rotation for a 12-month fixed-term contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate as part of an integrated operations team, responsible for the safe, timely, and quality execution of all production and utility operations activities, to ensure process throughput is optimized, equipment is operated within design parameter envelope, accommodation support systems are sustained, and business objectives are achieved.
• Control Room Operator.
• The Lead Production Technician has a working charge-hand role and will actively engage in the prescribed activities required of a Production Technician.
• Lead a team of production technicians to safely and efficiently operate the production process and utility systems.
• Installation focal point for Production Issues, providing guidance to the Installation Management Team, and liaising with onshore Discipline Engineers.
• Coordinate with and support facility maintenance and modification works.
• Ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System; request deviation waivers in accordance with the Management of Change process.
• Manage designated installation areas as directed by the Production Supervisor.
• Permit to Work Issuing Authority.
• Isolation Authority, ensuring all process isolations, lock-open-lock-closed lock-out-tag-out and interlocks follow applicable procedures and meet isolation standards.
• Area Operator for complex works execution, especially SIMOPS.
• Member of Normally Unmanned Installation Intervention Team, as required.
• Control of Works, Emergency Response, and supplemental roles, as assigned.
• Deputise as Production Supervisor, as required.
• Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance and accordance with Operations Integrity Management System, statutory Health and Safety Procedures, Maintenance Manuals, specific Working Instructions, Safe Systems of Work (Control of Work / Permit to Work), recommended Safe Working Practices, and any temporary Bridging Documents in effect.
• Participate in thorough pre-job risk assessments for non-routine activities and ensure that they are accurately reflected in the Permit to Work system and documentation.
• Participate in pre-job toolbox talks for all medium to high-risk activities.
• Participate in pre-job site inspections for all works as directed by Prod. Supervisor.
• Ensure that all required Personal Protection Equipment is appropriately used.
• Ensure all work party members, especially 3rd party personnel, fully understand the purpose of, and can use, required Emergency Response Equipment.
• Participate in permit audits and worksite visits as directed by Prod. Supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with established clean workplace practices.
• Monitor and report all discharges and emissions in compliance with Environmental Procedures and Installation Oil Spill Contingency Plan.
• Ensure that all incidents and accidents, near misses, and non-conformances are fully reported, and any resultant corrective action required is fully implemented.
• Operate the installation Process and Utility systems in accordance with established procedures, within design parameters, and equipment operating performance envelopes.
• Respond to abnormal (H/L alarm) or critical (HH/LL alarm) operating conditions, rectify the issue, and restore system normality in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
• Ensure that ‘Override & Inhibits Management’ is conducted in a safe manner in accordance with applicable Operations Procedures and safe working practices.
• Provide a source of technical expertise to diagnose, analyze, and rectify operating trips and upsets to enhance maximum availability while assuring process safety.
• Maintain Shift Logs of all relevant events and activities. Complete the Daily Production Report. Manage safe shift handover; ensure fulsome information transfer.
• Coordinate support for maintenance and modification works as directed by the Production Supervisor. Isolate and flush/purge plant/equipment for maintenance.
• Ensure accurate sampling, testing, and reporting as required by procedures.
• Accurate & timely report process operations activity, upsets, and production.
• Liaise with onshore discipline engineers and other support resources to ensure adequate levels of support are provided in a timely manner.
• Lead, control, and participate in the work activities of the Production operations team, under the direction of the Production Supervisor.
• Oversee vendors, equipment specialists, and maintenance contract personnel onsite.
• Guide, train, and coach Production Technicians in discipline and safe work practices.
• Contribute to performance appraisal of subordinate technicians.
• ‘Third party Expert Witness’ for on-the-job Learning and Competence Assessment, as defined within the Company’s Competence Management System.
