Are you a seasoned "heavy hitter" in the Programme Management space? Do you thrive when parachuted into dynamic environments to turn silos into streamlined success?

We are partnering with a leading, mid-sized specialist lender in the regulated financial services sector to find a high-impact Programme Manager for a critical 6-month mission.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Creating the Master Roadmap: Synthesising disparate plans into a single, cohesive delivery view that highlights interdependencies and high-level milestones.
  • Navigating Resource Contention: Expertly negotiating and prioritising shared dev, test, and UAT resources to ensure the pipeline keeps moving efficiently.
  • Implementing Lean Governance: Establishing robust but "not overbearing" controls and reporting structures that provide clarity without slowing down innovation.
  • Stakeholder Mastery: Moving from "self-absorbed" task management to proactive, insightful communication that builds trust across senior leadership.

Who You Are

You are a seasoned contractor who specialises in programme remediation. You don't just follow a process; you challenge the status quo and bring fresh ideas to the table.

  • Experience: You have a proven track record of leading complex, multi-workstream programmes within regulated financial services (mortgage sector experience is a massive plus).
  • Personality: You possess the "gravitas" to influence senior leaders and the resilience to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Technical Savvy: You understand the "big picture" of digital transformation—both front-end and back-end—and can comfortably work with tools like ADO, Excel, and MS Project.
  • Scale: You excel in mid-sized, agile environments where resources are shared and negotiation is key, rather than large-scale retail banks with infinite headcounts.
