Lead Project Manager
Rate: Up to £550 per day, inside IR35, inclusive of fees
Clearance: BPSS
Location: Northern Hubs – Manchester, Leeds & Newcastle
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Project Manager to lead the successful planning and delivery of complex projects within a large-scale, highly governed environment. The successful candidate will manage end-to-end delivery, ensuring projects remain on track against agreed scope, timelines, budget and quality standards. The role will involve working closely with senior stakeholders, business teams, technical teams and delivery partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from initiation through to delivery and closure.
- Define project scope, milestones, dependencies, deliverables and delivery plans.
- Manage project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, including mitigation and escalation.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and influence delivery outcomes.
- Coordinate project resources, teams and delivery capacity.
- Manage budgets, forecasts and financial reporting.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance and reporting.
- Produce status reports, RAID logs, decision logs and governance documentation.
- Manage scope, change requests and impact assessments through formal change control.
- Identify delivery challenges and take proactive corrective action.

- Proven experience as a Project Manager / Lead Project Manager delivering complex projects.
- Strong project planning, delivery and governance experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong risk, issue and dependency management experience.
- Experience managing resources, budgets and delivery plans.
- Experience with change control and scope management.
- Ability to work across business and technical teams.
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within large or highly governed organisations is desirable.
