A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Lead Project Manager for the UK, you will play a vital role in the Order Execution Team within the Grid Technologies division in Newcastle. Your focus will be on providing day-to-day support for all UK-based projects while assisting the Head of Order Execution. You will be the primary point of contact for project escalations, ensuring the successful delivery of key projects in the region.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Coordinate UK project delivery within the Project Management team, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Own strategic projects across the GIS and Transformer portfolio.
- Serve as the primary contact for day-to-day project escalations.
- Support the Head of Order Execution with strategic initiatives.
- Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships to achieve long-term satisfaction and growth.
- Ensure team motivation and effective project allocations, including mentorship of junior team members.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including customers and internal teams, to ensure seamless operations and timely project delivery.
- Implement best practices and lead Lessons Learned workshops to foster a learning mindset.
- Oversee local subcontractors and international factories, ensuring compliance with schedules and quality standards.
- Provide essential technical support for factory and product assessments required by customers.
- Collaborate with finance and commercial teams for accurate reporting of financial metrics.
- Manage project scope, identifying risks and addressing customer requirements beyond the agreed scope.
- Centralize and control all project documentation to ensure compliance with business processes.
- Maintain quality management processes to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Leverage automation to streamline workflows and propose process improvements.
- This role includes approximately 30% site visits and travel (UK and overseas) to meet customers and factories.

What You Bring
- A flexible mindset to manage a variety of products with diverse complexities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in a leadership role.
- Formal qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a degree is preferred.
- Recognised Project Management certifications are preferred. NEC Contract execution knowledge are preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Transmission & Distribution standards and technologies is desirable.
- Awareness of commercial and contractual issues.
- Demonstrated experience in project management with a strong emphasis on risk management and effective communication.
- Proven track record of collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on a global scale.
- Familiarity with UK & I Regulations and current health and safety legislation.
