A Digital Wealth Management house requires a Lead QA Engineer to work on a brand new, web & mobile platform they are building from scratch. As a business, their focus is on the personal relationship they develop with customers, underpinned by multi-channel customer reach and global investment expertise via a digital Investment Management platform. Entirely in the cloud, taking advantage of powerful commoditised offerings, the firm are building a bespoke cloud-native solution.
Backed by one of the largest names in the Asset Management space, this FinTech was created 4 years ago, and, whilst having the stability and backing of a major firm, build their own technology. Whilst their current product has been running for 4 years, the reason this hire is critical, is the firm are about to embark and build a brand-new product from scratch and are currently hiring a Lead QA engineer for the Engineering Team.
Role Overview
As the Lead QA Engineer, you will act as a hands-on technical leader within the QA team, helping shape and deliver the organisation's quality and testing strategy. You will play a key role in ensuring quality is built into the software delivery lifecycle, from requirements and technical design through to release, using modern testing practices including test automation, API and integration testing, shift-left testing, CI/CD quality gates, and AI-assisted testing tools. Working closely with engineering, product, DevOps and architecture teams, you will ensure applications are thoroughly tested, resilient, and ready for release.

Key Responsibilities
- Champion quality engineering best practices and test standardisation, driving automation and continuous improvement across the technology function.
- Take ownership of complex technical testing challenges, leading the implementation and scaling of automation frameworks, reusable test utilities and automated quality checks using technologies such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, Python, TypeScript and C#.
- Contribute to the growth of the wider QA team through technical mentorship, peer reviews, knowledge sharing and the development of testing standards, documentation and processes, helping to establish a robust and future-proof QA capability.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of modern quality engineering and software testing practices, including how to build quality into the development lifecycle.
- Experienced in manual and automated testing across web, mobile and API-based applications.
- Worked on complex systems and understand how to test them for functionality, integration, performance, resilience and reliability.
- Experienced in defining and implementing test automation strategies, building automation frameworks and increasing reliable automated coverage.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to QA engineers, raising testing standards and promoting best engineering practices.
- Hands-on engineering skills across some or all of our core technical stack: Playwright / Cypress / Selenium / Postman / Python / TypeScript / C# / SQL / CI/CD.
- Interest in using AI-assisted testing and coding tools to improve test creation, automation maintenance, test-data generation and defect analysis.

Salary and Benefits
This Lead QA Engineer role is paying up to £80,000 + Bonus, Benefits 📍The role is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week in the office. Based near Bank station.
