Lead QMS Engineer
Gaydon | Quality Engineering & Assurance | Grade 9

We are now seeking a Lead QMS Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring our Quality Management System continues to meet the highest regulatory and operational standards across our manufacturing and satellite sites.
Reporting to the QMS Manager, you will be responsible for the administration, development, and continuous improvement of Aston Martin's Quality Management System, ensuring successful certification and compliance with external regulatory authorities. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple sites and functions, influencing quality standards throughout the business while engaging with senior leadership, operational teams, and external audit bodies.
Responsibilities
As the Lead QMS Engineer, you will:
- Lead the deployment and ongoing management of the Quality Management System, ensuring documentation is maintained, updated, and communicated effectively throughout the organisation.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors to plan, coordinate, and deliver successful audits, supporting the achievement and maintenance of accreditation against recognised quality standards.
- Act as the key escalation point for QMS-related issues across satellite sites.
- Monitor departmental performance metrics.
- Support risk management activities.
- Ensure quality processes remain aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
To be successful, you will bring:
- Proven experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive internal and external auditing expertise.
- A recognised Lead Auditor qualification.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The confidence to present findings and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Highly organised problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the automotive sector.
- Knowledge of Lean principles.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as control plans and PFMEAs.
- The ability to analyse and communicate data-driven insights.
- An engineering degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
