Lead Quality Control Inspector

Westhill, Aberdeenshire
Full-time, Permanent

Please note that this role requires security checks.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Quality Control Inspector to join our Westhill HSSEQ Team. This is a key role responsible for leading and coordinating quality control inspection activities across manufacturing, assembly, testing, and supplier quality processes, ensuring the highest standards of product conformity and compliance are consistently achieved.

Working closely with production, engineering, procurement, and project teams, you will provide technical expertise, guidance, and day-to-day leadership to a team of QC Inspectors while driving a culture of quality throughout the organisation. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting business objectives, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance, acting as the primary Quality Control representative in the Quality Manager's absence.

What you'll be doing:

  • Coordinate daily QC inspection activities to support production and delivery targets.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to QC Inspectors and production teams.
  • Ensure compliance with inspection standards and act as the focal point for quality issues and escalations.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections, witness testing, and perform workstation audits.
  • Support supplier quality activities, non-conformance investigations, audits, and documentation reviews, including ISO 10204 certification.
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve quality issues, customer complaints, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead or support investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring quality concerns.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture, including exercising stop-work authority where required to protect health and safety.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
