Lead Quality Engineer
Location: Portsmouth Broad Oak
Salary: Up to £48,500 depending on skills and experience

Job Description:
This is a lead role within the sites Quality team. In this role, you will ensure operational compliance to specifications and quality standards. You will also support the resolution of quality issues and the internal/external audit process.
Core Duties:
- Line management responsibility for Quality Team direct reports
- Provide subject matter expertise with regards to quality standards, operations tools and techniques
- Represent the Quality function within technical forums, working groups, and Central/CTO activities
- Work with the Quality Team to develop plans for operational improvement, improvements in quality compliance, and monitoring of progress against plan
- Support resolution of quality issues, the internal audit process, external audits, and any audit NCR’s
- Support Process Readiness Review (PRR) / APQP, performing Quality Dept. reviews of process readiness, and supporting the optimisation of both processes

Essential Skills:
- Qualification(s) in an engineering discipline (Science or Engineering degree, HNC, HND) or time served in an Engineering discipline
- Excellent numeracy and mechanical comprehension
- Demonstrable experience with statistical control methods and systems, with a proven ability to implement and use appropriately
- Experience within a manufacturing environment of a similarly highly controlled nature (aerospace, automotive, nuclear, medical devices etc)
The Products Quality team:
The Products Quality team is a friendly and collaborative group, working across a diverse range of projects and manufacturing programmes at multiple sites. This role is focused on our underwater battlespace activities based at Broad Oak, Portsmouth.
You’ll join a well-established team that partners closely with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders. With a strong focus on continuous improvement and delivering quality excellence, the team plays a key role in supporting and enhancing our growing Products business.
