Lead Quality Engineer
Fully Remote | UK, Ireland & European time zones
I'm working with an innovative software company that's looking to hire an experienced Lead Quality Engineer to take ownership of quality across a complex, customer facing platform.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you'll define quality standards, build scalable testing processes, and help shape the future of quality engineering within a growing product team.
The Role
You'll be responsible for developing and evolving the overall quality strategy, ensuring software is released confidently and reliably while supporting a fast-paced engineering environment.
Working closely with developers and product teams, you'll drive automation, improve testing practices, and establish quality as a key part of the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the quality strategy and release process.
- Develop and enhance automated testing frameworks.
- Strengthen end-to-end and regression testing.
- Improve release confidence through effective quality gates.
- Turn production issues into automated regression coverage.
- Lead exploratory testing for business-critical functionality.
- Mentor and develop junior QA engineers.
- Champion best practice across quality engineering.

About You
You'll have:
- 5+ years' experience in QA, Quality Engineering, or SDET roles.
- Proven depth in frontend quality: e2e suites (Playwright, Cypress, or similar) that catch interaction-level regressions, visual regression, and real browser verification integrated into CI/CD.
- Experience building quality gates and release processes for teams that ship continuously.
- Active use of AI tooling in your own QA work - we will ask how it has changed your practice in the last year.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge release decisions when required.
- The ability to work independently within a fully remote environment.

Desirable Experience
- Testing complex web applications.
- Experience in highly regulated, enterprise, or business-critical software.
- Exposure to modern software delivery practices and AI-assisted development.
