Role: React Developer
Job Type:
Contract (Inside IR35) / FTC – 4 months
Location:
Dunstable, UK (3 days onsite per week)
Job Description:
This role is for a React Developer who will lead the front-end build across Drops 3, 4 and 5, while also driving front-end hardening across Drops 1 and 2. The client is looking for someone with deep React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript expertise who can lead the front-end team, establish coding standards, and work closely with UX and QA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the React build for Drops 3, 4 and 5 and front-end hardening across Drops 1 and 2.
- Define component structure, state management and front-end coding standards.
- Review and guide the work of offshore front-end engineers.
- Build dynamic task and form rendering over the task-management data model.
- Work closely with UX to address accessibility, performance and error-state gaps.
- Drive front-end automation and Definition of Done with QA.
- Provide onsite leadership and unblock offshore engineers across time zones.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of front-end engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Proven experience leading a front-end development team and setting technical standards.
- Experience with dynamic, config-driven UI rendering and complex form logic.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work with offshore teams.
- Experience with state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand or similar.

Desirable:
- Experience implementing design systems.
- Experience with front-end automation using Cypress, Playwright or similar.
- Exposure to migrating UI from a low-code platform.
- Strong understanding of accessibility and front-end performance.
