About the Role

We're working with a fast-growing wealth and asset management business seeking a senior regulatory counsel to join its legal team.

This is a high-profile role for an experienced financial services regulatory lawyer who wants to operate at the heart of a dynamic and evolving business. Acting as the lead regulatory legal specialist, you'll advise senior stakeholders on complex regulatory matters, regulatory change initiatives, business growth projects, and new products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on UK financial services regulation and regulatory developments
  • Supporting the implementation of regulatory change programmes
  • Providing commercially focused legal advice to senior business leaders
  • Assessing regulatory implications of strategic initiatives and transactions
  • Working closely with Compliance and external counsel where required
  • Drafting and negotiating regulatory-related documentation and agreements

Requirements

We're interested in speaking with lawyers who have:

  • 6+ years' PQE
  • Strong financial services regulatory experience gained in private practice and/or in-house
  • Exposure to funds, asset management, wealth management and/or investment platforms
  • The confidence to operate autonomously and act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders
  • A commercial, pragmatic approach and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
