Lead Safety & Security Engineer
About The Role
We're looking for an experienced Lead Safety & Security Engineer to take technical ownership of complex integrated security projects while providing leadership and support to engineers in the field. You'll play a key role in delivering enterprise-level solutions across CCTV, Access Control, Intercom and integrated security platforms, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery, commissioning and handover of integrated security and safety systems.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and day-to-day support to engineers, apprentices and subcontractors.
- Support Project Managers with planning, resource allocation, risk management and project execution.
- Conduct site surveys, design reviews, technical audits and quality inspections.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers throughout project delivery.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across security systems and networked environments.
- Ensure all documentation, commissioning records and handover packs are completed accurately.
- Support pre-sales activities, solution design, system improvements and upgrade opportunities.
- Champion high standards of health & safety, quality and compliance across all activities.
- Must be willing to cover out of hours rota is delivered in line with the customer’s expectations.

Skills & Experience
- Proven experience leading the installation, commissioning and support of enterprise-scale security systems.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Intercom and integrated security technologies.
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as Gallagher, Genetec Security Centre, HikCentral and Hanwha Vision.
- Strong understanding of IP networking, switching, routing, VLANs, fibre infrastructure and cybersecurity principles.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, network diagrams and construction documentation.
- Experience integrating security solutions with third-party systems and BMS platforms.
- Knowledge of British Standards including BS EN 62676, BS EN 60839, BS5839 and BS7671.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineers, subcontractors and multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong customer-facing, communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- Gallagher Certified Engineer
- Genetec Certified Technical Specialist (or equivalent)
- HNC/HND in Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- ECS Gold Card
- Manufacturer accreditations across leading security platforms
- Full UK Driving Licence
