Role Description

The Lead, Sales Systems serves as the business owner for Sales technology, ensuring systems support field workflows, business priorities, and effective Sales execution.

Reporting to the Manager of Sales Analytics and Reporting, this role manages system priorities, translates business needs into requirements, partners with technical teams on delivery, and measures adoption and business impact.

Outcomes and Activities

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to our Southfield, Michigan office may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at our Southfield, Michigan office if requested by the team member.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Systems Ownership

  • Serve as the business owner for assigned Sales platforms and represent Sales needs related to enhancements, priorities, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain system priorities and backlogs based on business value, user needs, and operational risk.
  • Evaluate workflows, data, integrations, reporting dependencies, access, and user experience to identify improvement opportunities.

Requirements and Delivery

  • Partner with Sales stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, and business needs.
  • Translate needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and success measures.
  • Partner with technical teams to evaluate solutions, manage dependencies, and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, release validation, and post-launch verification.

Adoption and Performance

  • Support pilots, system launches, communications, training, and change-readiness efforts.
  • Measure adoption, utilization, data quality, user experience, productivity, and business outcomes.
  • Use user feedback and performance insights to recommend system improvements.

Business Partnership

  • Partner with Sales, Sales Enablement, Analytics, and technical teams to support system needs and business priorities.
  • Track and communicate key requests, risks, dependencies, decisions, and delivery status.
  • Translate technical considerations and tradeoffs into clear business recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least five years of experience supporting Sales systems, business technology platforms, Sales Operations, or related systems work.
  • Experience translating business needs into requirements and partnering with technical teams through testing, release, and adoption.
  • Experience with CRM, sales enablement, workflow, lead-management, or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Working knowledge of data, reporting, integrations, and tools such as Power BI, SQL, or similar analytics solutions.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, prioritization, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a product owner, platform owner, business systems analyst, or Sales Operations systems partner.
  • Experience with Power Platform, APIs, workflow automation, Jira, or modern cloud-based data environments.
  • Experience supporting distributed or field-based Sales organizations.
  • Experience in automotive finance, consumer lending, financial services, or another regulated industry.

Targeted Compensation

  • $115,394 - $134,627 + Annual Bonus
