Role Description

The Lead Senior Care role is a full-time, on-site position based in Wrexham. This role involves overseeing daily care activities, supporting residents with personal care, medication, and routines, and ensuring care plans are followed and regularly updated. The Lead Senior Carer will guide and mentor care staff, coordinate shifts, and help maintain a positive and efficient care environment.

  • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing
  • Communicating with families and healthcare professionals
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Responding to changing care needs
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of service delivery

Qualifications

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of Medicine and Critical Care Medicine to support safe care practices and understand clinical needs.
  • Customer Service skills to ensure a respectful, responsive, and resident-focused approach.
  • Previous experience in senior care, residential care, or a similar care setting.
  • Relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) are highly beneficial.
  • Ability to lead and support a team, organize workloads, and make sound decisions in a care environment.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory standards in adult social care.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
