Lead Service Engineer/Service Manager

We're delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established precision engineering organisation, seeking a skilled Lead Service Engineer to support its continued growth. The company is recognised for its commitment to quality, innovation, staff satisfaction and advanced manufacturing capabilities, delivering high-performance solutions to a global customer base.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines extensive hands-on technical expertise with team leadership and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

The Role

As Lead Service Engineer, you will spend the majority of your time on the road, around 80%, carrying out service, repair, and calibration work at customer sites, leading from the front on all servicing activity. The company's head office is in South Essex, with the role predominantly focused on clients across East Anglia, with occasional travel further afield. A company van will be provided for business use, and applicants will ideally be based in Essex, Suffolk, or Cambridgeshire.

Alongside the hands-on work, you will lead a team of 7 engineers, coordinating which jobs they're on, where they're needed, and ensuring the team runs efficiently across a busy schedule. You will play a key role in setting standards, improving performance, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
