ENODA’s Vision

ENODA’s world-class team is building the first truly decentralized, intelligent energy system that will reshape how we generate, store, and distribute energy.

Foundational to our holistic and integrated platform approach, the ENODA PRIME® Exchanger, is first-of-a-kind dynamic power flow hardware designed to maintain “on-target” frequency and voltage, increasing grid efficiency and capacity for distributed energy sources like renewables and EVs.

ENODA ENSEMBLE™ is our ecosystem coordinator of ENODA and third-party assets, able to forecast, aggregate, and bid capacity in real time, functioning as a networked “operating system” for the electrical grid.

This is more than simply managing electricity flow. It is about creating the foundational system to prepare for a radically more capable, prosperous, and intelligent future.

Job Description

We have a number of opportunities for experienced Lead Software Engineers, or Senior Software Engineers with 3+ years at senior level, to join our business as we continue to scale.

The Lead Software Engineer will play a key role in the Software team, responsible for building and evolving E’s software solution for monitoring, control, dispatch, and advanced analytics of the energy grid.

This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, data engineering, and operational technology, and requires a strong understanding of backend application development and distributed systems. You will design and implement high-performance APIs, services, and computational engines such as simulation, dispatch optimisation, or digital twin, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability across the platform.

Success in this position requires confidence in designing robust systems, building reliable integrations between services, and contributing to a platform that prioritises performance, resilience, and long-term maintainability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We Are Hiring a Number Of Technical Leads, To Support The Streams Of Our Platform

Based on your strengths and our priorities, you will be matched to the stream that fits you best:

  • Grid Visibility and Insight, which is responsible for the live operational awareness for operator.
  • Capacity Intelligence and Planning, where forecasting, hosting capacity and scenario/planning evaluate ENODA PRIME® Exchanger behaviour and network impact, at accuracy and scale.
  • Flexibility Orchestration, responsible for the optimisation and dispatch of energy assets such the ENODA PRIME® Exchanger, BESS and any other systems.

All streams are software-led, computationally intensive, and operate in critical-infrastructure contexts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing and implementing computational engines (simulation, optimisation, or AI/ML), data-processing systems, and backend services in C++, Rust and/or Python, with a strong emphasis on computational efficiency and scalability.
  • Expertise in developing large-scale, modular software architectures for modelling, simulation, optimisation, or equivalent computational domains.
  • Strong grasp of mathematical modelling, ETL-like workflows, and algorithms (e.g. steady-state and dynamic simulation, numerical optimisation, or applied ML) in energy systems or similar fields.
  • Awareness of hardware-software integration, control systems, and virtualisation for testing and validating outputs against live data from physical devices.
  • Skilled in building reliable interfaces, APIs, and integration layers between computational engines, UI frameworks, and cloud platforms, ensuring deterministic behaviour and low-latency communication.
  • Familiarity with multi-environment deployment, edge computing, containerised services, and orchestration frameworks (e.g. Kubernetes), to support hybrid deployment contexts.
  • Ability to build robust, observable, and secure software suitable for mission-critical infrastructure, with proficiency in logging, monitoring, and fault tolerance.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices in design and deployment, particularly for critical infrastructure and ISO-compliant environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams (software, hardware, analytics, and operations).
  • Excellent analytical ability with the capacity to balance model fidelity, computational performance, and maintainability in a commercial-grade product context.
