Lead C/C++ Engineer — Belfast
ViVA Tech Talent are proud to be exclusively partnering with a hiring for a fast-growing cybersecurity company in Belfast, who are looking for a Lead C/C++ Engineer. They are at the cutting edge of what they do and this opportunity is not to be missed!
Our client protects connected devices and critical digital infrastructure. You'll own the embedded software architecture — the real design authority, not just a title — building secure communications software that has to work flawlessly on constrained, low-power hardware where there's no room for sloppy engineering.
This isn't a role where you disappear into the codebase and never resurface. You'll split your time roughly 50/50: hands-on architecture and delivery, and being the technical face in front of clients and partners. Alongside that, you'll lead a small team — not just allocating tickets, but genuinely mentoring, motivating, and building a culture people want to stick around for.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
