Lead Software Engineer
What We Need
Corpay is currently looking to hire a Lead Software Engineer within our Epyx division. This position falls under our Corporate Payments line of business.
In this role, you will join us on a fantastic journey and help us build great applications and services across the r2cOnline and 1link product ecosystem.
You will collaborate closely with other Software Engineers and Designers across multiple platforms and technologies to craft an application ecosystem that is consistent, highly usable, reliable, and performant. You will also be part of our local communities of practice, helping to identify new technologies that could support our competitive advantage in the dynamic payments industry.
The position reports to the Engineering Manager.

Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Designing and architecting product building blocks to help make r2cOnline well integrated and easy to integrate with.
- Helping drive alignment with the architectural roadmap.
- Working collaboratively and being an active contributor to continuous improvement within the team.
- Providing honest and open feedback based on your experience.
- Being an active contributor to our Engineering community.
- Mentoring and coaching software engineers.
- Maintaining a productive working environment for development teams.
- Supporting recruitment for growing and ongoing team needs.
- Contributing to the execution of our Digital and Technology strategy.
- Providing technical thought leadership to leadership teams.
- Designing and implementing smart ways of storing and displaying complex data.
- Writing excellent and extensible code, adhering to coding and commenting standards while following best practices.
- Building reusable components wherever possible.
- Taking a TDD and BDD approach to writing code.
- Supporting Product Owners by advising on the practicability of solution alternatives, balancing technical limitations with operational realities, and providing recommendations.
- Undertaking all roles required as part of an agile development team to design, build, and deploy applications in line with business needs and priorities.
- Introducing AI-driven enhancements where they deliver measurable value.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in software development.
- Familiarity with new technologies and an understanding of where it is appropriate to use them.
- Demonstrable experience in software development within a SaaS-oriented development environment.
- Ability to think iteratively and in terms of architectural boundaries.
- Track record of delivering agile software development using appropriate tools.
- Clear understanding and experience of DevOps and why it is beneficial to development teams.
- Exposure to DevSecOps.
- Experience with AWS native services.
- Experience working with microservices, including Azure FaaS,.NET Core, and native AWS services.
- Experience and understanding of development tools such as Azure DevOps, Confluence, and GitHub.
- Experience with Azure.
- Experience driving AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Experience with tools and technologies such as VS Code, Visual Studio, Rider, ReSharper, Jira,.NET, C#, ASP.NET, REST/SOAP services, WebAPI, JavaScript, React.js, Redux, JWT, Storybook, Jest, Enzyme, SQL Server, Dapper, Log4Net, Autofac, MSTest, ADO, Git, Octopus Deploy, SpecFlow, Selenium WebDriver, JMeter, and Gherkin.
- Ability to recognise the importance of the customer by gathering feedback and using it as a basis for decision-making.
- Ability to take responsibility, own issues, and resolve them by identifying and working with the relevant individuals.
- Ability to coach and provide technical leadership to less experienced team members.
- Ability to reflect constructively, remain positive when faced with setbacks, and continue working towards a solution.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for different audiences.
- Ability to build professional and effective working relationships with internal teams and partner suppliers.
- Ability to identify opportunities for personal, team, and process improvement and act on them.
