Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer to join Royal London’s Digital Area. In this role, you’ll use your deep technical expertise to help design, develop, test and implement high-quality software solutions that meet business and customer needs. The main technical skills would be .Net (C#).

About the Role

  • You’ll lead your engineers to provide high quality solutions in a collaborative, empowered team who are constantly looking to improve and grow.
  • You’ll lead the delivery of complex technical solutions within your area of expertise.
  • You will work closely with architecture and Front end teams to design best solutions with the strategic plan in mind with you feeding into that strategy.
  • You’ll provide technical advice, guidance and support to software engineers across the team supporting and mentoring to support development.
  • You’ll contribute to our software development community by sharing ideas, reviewing others’ work and helping to drive continuous improvement.

About You

  • You’ll bring strong technical knowledge in.Net (C#) with experience of Azure, Typescript or Angular being an advantage.
  • You’ll have a good understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing and implementation.
  • You’ll be confident leading technical delivery, reviewing others’ work and providing guidance to software engineers.
  • You’ll be comfortable managing your own workload while helping to schedule, allocate or support work across the wider team.
  • You’ll have experience working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams and managing dependencies with other teams.
  • You’ll bring an awareness of agile development practices and a continuous improvement mindset.
