Lead Python Engineer | Up to £110k | 3 days a week in London

We've partnered with a well-established, data-driven insurance business to find a Technical Lead who's just as happy reviewing a pull request as setting technical direction for a team.

Our client operates in a specialist, fast-evolving corner of the insurance market, using technology and data science to modernise how risk is assessed and underwritten. This is a genuinely global business with real scale, but one that still moves with pace and autonomy.

This is a rare hybrid role, real leadership impact, without stepping away from the code. You'll formally lead and line-manage a small team of engineers, sprint planning, code reviews, mentoring, and technical direction, while staying genuinely hands-on in the codebase. You'll help shape how the platform is designed and scaled, and be trusted to make the calls on architecture, quality, and delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
