Lead ESB Developer

The Lead ESB Developer is responsible for defining, designing, and governing enterprise integration solutions across ESB, messaging, and API layers. The role ensures scalable, resilient, and maintainable integrations aligned to enterprise architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Solution Design

  • Design ESB services using IBM ACE/IIB and messaging solutions.
  • Enable integrations across core systems, microservices, and external partners.

Technical Leadership & Governance

  • Define and enforce integration patterns, coding standards, and best practices.
  • Review and approve design solutions across squads.

Modernization & Optimization

  • Reduce ESB complexity and duplication.
  • Drive API-first and event-driven approaches.

Delivery & Execution

  • Lead complex integration deliveries and support squads with technical challenges.

Collaboration

  • Work with architects, platform teams, and developers across domains.

Core Technical Skills

  • Expert in IBM ACE/IIB and ESQL.
  • Datapower
  • Strong MQ and Messaging Patterns Knowledge.

A good understanding of some of the following Middleware technologies:

  • IBM Integration Bus (IIB) / ACE / MQ
  • Weblogic
  • JBoss 7 & 8
  • IBM Websphere Application Server (WAS)
  • Urban Code Deploy (UCD)
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in prioritising activities with support from Lead or Senior Engineers
  • Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with complex technical issues
  • API integration (REST/SOAP).
  • Understanding microservices and event-driven architecture.
  • RDBMS
