Software Engineering Team Lead — IoT Platform

This role is part of our Remote Monitoring Solutions product line.

We are looking for a Software Team Lead to lead the delivery, quality, and day-to-day running of a software engineering team building an IoT remote-monitoring platform.

About the Role

In this leadership-focused role, you will drive technical delivery, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality, reliable software solutions across all stakeholders. You will act as a key connector between engineering, product, support, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

As a Software Engineering Team Lead — IoT Platform, you must be able to:

  • Lead the software team’s delivery, quality, and daily operations for an IoT remote-monitoring platform.
  • Translate product and business requirements into technical solutions and guide implementation.
  • Own codebase governance: branching strategy, repository health, code reviews, and pull request management.
  • Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD improvements, release coordination, and development best practices.
  • Plan work effectively by breaking down scope, estimating effort, and managing team capacity.
  • Run Agile ceremonies, act as Scrum Master, and ensure accurate task tracking in project-management tools.
  • Mentor engineers and support their technical growth and day-to-day execution.
  • Partner with product and stakeholders to review requirements, provide technical input, and report engineering progress.
  • Oversee validation activities including UAT and end-to-end testing across a complex IoT ecosystem.
  • Act as the main escalation point for support cases, incidents, and customer-impacting issues.
  • Triage, investigate, and prioritize issues, including NCRs, and coordinate corrective actions with QA and quality teams.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and produce clear technical documentation for major issues and follow-up actions.
  • Manage people responsibilities including performance, goals, attendance, expenses, and external consultants.
  • Support team growth through hiring, interviewing, and onboarding new team members.

What Makes You an Asset to Our Team

  • Proven software engineering background with experience as a Tech Lead, Team Lead, or Senior Software Engineer.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, support, and quality teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Git branching workflows, code review practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery; Scrum Master experience or certification is considered an asset.
  • Ability to analyse BRDs/PRDs and translate them into clear technical designs.
  • Experience in people management, or demonstrated readiness to take on line-management responsibilities.
  • Experience with third-line support, incident management, and issue escalation.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills across cross-functional teams and external consultants.
  • Experience working in complex software environments, ideally involving IoT, remote monitoring, or connected platforms.
  • A proactive, organised, and solutions-focused leadership approach.
