🚀 Software Technical Lead | Robotics & Advanced Engineering
Are you an experienced Software Technical Lead looking to take ownership of complex software used within advanced robotic and engineering systems?
We're working with an established UK engineering organisation looking to bring an experienced Software Technical Lead into its growing engineering team.
This is a senior technical position combining software architecture, technical leadership and project delivery. You'll take ownership of software across complex engineering projects, working with multidisciplinary teams to take systems from initial requirements and architecture through development, integration and delivery.

💡 What You'll Be Doing
- Taking technical ownership of software delivery across complex engineering projects
- Defining software architectures for integrated systems
- Translating system-level requirements into software solutions
- Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary software engineering teams
- Working across embedded, application and system-level software
- Ensuring appropriate software quality, safety and engineering standards
- Working directly with customers and internal engineering stakeholders
- Mentoring engineers and helping improve development practices
🧠 What We're Looking For
- Significant experience in Senior, Lead or Principal Software Engineering positions
- Strong software architecture and system design experience
- Experience technically leading software or multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Broad understanding of software from embedded systems through to applications
- Experience developing system and software requirements
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices
- Knowledge of software quality, safety and secure development principles
- A relevant engineering/software degree or equivalent experience

💻 Technical Environment
You don't need experience with everything below, but exposure to several would be useful:
- C++ | Python | JavaScript | Linux | Windows | Docker | TCP/IP | UDP | WebSockets | SQL | Node.js | Django.
Experience with real-time systems, control software, robotics, Qt/.NET, message queues, APIs, video technologies or cyber security would also be advantageous.
This could be particularly well suited to someone from an industrial, robotics, automotive, aerospace, defence, marine or other complex systems engineering environment.
