Hartmann Young is partnered with an early-stage healthcare technology company developing AI-powered software for use in clinical environments.
As the business continues to scale, they are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join as a key technical hire, working closely with the CTO and taking ownership across the core platform.
The Role
- Own and develop backend services and data infrastructure
- Build and maintain Python-based APIs, pipelines and production systems
- Support integrations with healthcare and clinical data systems
- Work across cloud infrastructure, ML deployment and platform architecture
- Lead technical projects from design through to production
- Mentor engineers as the team grows
- Help shape technical direction and engineering best practice

What They Are Looking For
- 6+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong commercial Python background
- Experience building production systems on Azure or AWS
- Strong experience across APIs, databases and data-heavy applications
- Previous experience leading projects or mentoring engineers
- Comfortable working within an early-stage, high-ownership environment
- Experience in healthcare, regulated software or clinical data environments is advantageous
- Exposure to FHIR, HL7 or ML infrastructure would be beneficial
- Right to work in the UK
