We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer
You'll join Elanco's Product Safety engineering team, driving the global implementation of our Pharmacovigilance SaaS platform, RX Logic. You'll own complex technical solutions end-to-end, ensuring seamless data flow and integration across the Elanco ecosystem while setting the technical standard for the wider engineering community. This is a high-impact role at the heart of Elanco's Pharmacovigilance long-term strategy, working across R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory systems.
Your Responsibilities:
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the RX Logic SaaS platform, architecting robust API patterns (REST, GraphQL, JSON) to connect the platform with upstream and downstream systems across R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory.
- Design and build scalable, full-stack solutions across front-end and back-end technologies, embedding security, privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance (GxP, GDPR) into every digital solution.
- Partner with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Designers to shape the product backlog, validate feature feasibility, and translate business requirements into sound engineering approaches.
- Lead and coach engineers within the Product Safety team, sharing best practice across Elanco's wider Engineering community and managing stakeholder expectations to prevent knowledge silos.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation, including AI-enabled integrations and modern delivery practices, to enhance both the developer and end-user experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
