About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join the technology team at J.P. Morgan within the Neovest, Inc. division. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions that support the firm’s trading and market operations. You will work within an agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build secure, scalable, and high-performance technology products. Your expertise will drive the adoption of advanced AI-assisted engineering practices, ensuring the delivery of high-quality code and operational excellence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the firm’s technological landscape, contribute to strategic initiatives, and lead the evaluation of emerging technologies and vendors.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development with hands-on experience in modern programming languages and frameworks. Advanced knowledge of C#/.Net, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript is essential, along with practical experience in developing multi-threaded applications. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and secure coding practices is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of agile methodologies, cloud-native architectures, and the financial markets, particularly in trading and portfolio management systems. Excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are crucial. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is typically required, with additional certifications or advanced degrees considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot innovative software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code, review code written by peers, and debug issues efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring tasks and remediate issues to enhance operational stability and system reliability.
  • Drive the adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices within the team to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
  • Utilize tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize automation benefits.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and system applicability.
  • Lead communities of practice across software engineering, promoting awareness and adoption of emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Contribute to fostering a team culture grounded in diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect, ensuring a supportive work environment.
