About The Role
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Developer to join a well-established organization based in Bury St Edmunds. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development with proven experience in Python. A solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL is essential, along with familiarity with JavaScript and React is desirable. Experience in developing RESTful APIs, system integrations, and working within Agile methodologies is also required. Candidates should be comfortable working with version control systems like Git and modern CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins. A good grasp of software architecture, secure coding practices, and engineering standards is necessary to succeed in this role. Additionally, prior experience mentoring developers or providing technical leadership will be highly valued. Excellent communication skills are crucial, as the role involves working closely with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of business-critical software applications, ensuring high quality and scalability.
- Develop comprehensive full-stack solutions utilizing Python and modern web technologies to meet business requirements.
- Mentor and support fellow developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Contribute to the overall software architecture, system design, and integration efforts across multiple applications and platforms.
- Establish and promote development standards, best practices, and engineering processes to ensure consistency and excellence across projects.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that add value to the business.
- Support release management activities, including CI/CD pipeline setup, testing, and deployment processes, to facilitate smooth software releases.
- Drive ongoing process improvements within development, support, and delivery teams to enhance efficiency and quality.
